Responsibilities:
As a Switchgear Engineer, you will:
- Develop Medium Voltage Switchgear, focusing on circuit breakers and air-insulated switchgears.
- Design operating mechanisms, including mechanical parts like springs, shafts, cams, and gears.
- Create designs for various switchgear components, such as earthing switches, load break switches, and disconnectors.
- Analyze no-load characteristics for VCBs and switches, including distance-time graphs.
- Conduct routine and type tests in line with relevant IEC standards, troubleshooting any failures during testing.
- Understand electrical parameters, including clearance, creepage, and switchgear ratings.
- Utilize AutoCAD for design work, with knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks as a bonus.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Between 3 to 10 years of experience in Medium Voltage Switchgear development.
- Strong design skills and knowledge of operating mechanisms and switchgear components.
- Experience with routine testing and understanding of IEC standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks is a plus.
