Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to plan machining operations.
- Operate manual lathes (both horizontal and vertical) and milling machines to produce parts according to specifications.
- Select the right tools, machines, and materials for each project.
- Set up and adjust machine controls to achieve precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of metal parts.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of machining processes to ensure quality, including knowledge of Furmanite clamps.
- Inspect finished parts for compliance with quality standards.
- Complete scheduled tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Use measuring instruments accurately.
- Knowledgeable in various threading types (UNC, UNF, MM, INCH, ACME, NPT) and operations (turning, milling, slotting, threading).
- Operate and maintain CNC lathe machines, including programming and setup.
- Work in confined areas and at heights as required.
- Be available for callouts during off-hours and work shifts as needed.
Qualifications:
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a technical trade certificate is required.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled in setting up and machining large workpieces.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Candidates should be physically fit and not older than 45 years.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude toward safety and a willingness to work as part of a team.
