Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining tasks.
- Operate manual lathes (both horizontal and vertical) and milling machines to produce parts based on specifications.
- Select the right tools, machines, and materials for each project.
- Set up and adjust machine controls for precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of metal components.
- Ensure quality and accuracy in machining processes, including the use of Furmanite clamps.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Complete tasks efficiently and accurately within deadlines.
- Use measuring instruments effectively.
- Have knowledge of various threading types (UNC, UNF, MM, INCH, ACME, NPT, etc.).
- Perform various operations, including turning, milling, slotting, and threading.
- Operate, program, set up, and maintain CNC lathe machines.
- Work safely in confined spaces and at heights.
- Be available for on-call duties during off hours and work shifts in both shop and field environments.
Qualifications:
- A diploma in Mechanical or a relevant technical trade certificate is required.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in operating manual lathes and milling machines.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in setting up, operating, and machining large workpieces.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and effective time management.
- Candidates should be no older than 45 years and must be physically fit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive safety attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team.
