We are looking for a Sleep Technologist to join our Pediatric Sleep Lab. This full-time position offers a chance to work with a dedicated team focused on improving sleep health in children. If you are passionate about pediatric care and sleep medicine, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Perform overnight polysomnographic tests on pediatric patients to diagnose sleep disorders.
- Set up, operate, and calibrate sleep diagnostic equipment, ensuring accurate monitoring of brain waves (EEG), eye movements (EOG), muscle activity (EMG), heart activity (ECG), breathing patterns, and oxygen levels.
- Conduct multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and various titration studies, including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator support.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, addressing any concerns they may have.
- Interpret sleep stages and physiological data following AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) guidelines.
- Collaborate with doctors and nurses to review sleep study results and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the sleep lab for our pediatric patients.
- Troubleshoot equipment and sensor issues during tests to ensure high-quality data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy with a solid academic background.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric sleep disorders and experience with sleep scoring methods.
- Proficiency in using polysomnographic equipment and software.
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and their families.
